The Pinckneyville Dolphins swim team's season is in full paddle. Here are pictures of it competing against Chester June 28. Its next meet is June 30 at home.
Youth of all ages and both genders enjoy friendly competition and sportsmanship every Saturday in the spring and fall. Hats off to the organizers and participants for creating a fun atmosphere that leaves the petty politics and cutthroat tactics out of the game. (click on the image to view the photo gallery).

Pinckneyville Dolphins swimmer Coleman Choate set a record at the city pool Thursday in the butterfly during a meet against Chester. Choate swam the event in 46 seconds. The Perry County Soccer League kicked-off its spring season March 27 with a full slate of action. Click on the image to view more pictures. Registration for the Perry County Soccer League is open from now through Feb. 19. Play begins March 27 and runs through May 8. Forms are available at Perry County Market Place and the Pinckneyville and Du Quoin Dairy Queen restaurants. A walk up registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 30 at both Dairy Queens. Registration forms are also available at www.perrycountysoccer.com.
