Students from the sixth, seventh and eighth grades of St. Bruno School in Pinckneyville celebrated Earth Day by planting native flowers and creating a butterfly habitat at Pyramid State Park. This is the second consecutive year the school has participated in the program sponsored by the Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources and the Friends of Pyramid State Park. Sparked by a three run third inning, the St. Bruno Falcons defeated Adams of Creal Springs 4-2 Wednesday afternoon to advance to the Class S championship. They will play at 3 p.m. Friday at Coulterville City Park. (click on the image to view the photo gallery)
The St. Bruno Falcons advanced to semi-finals of the Class L Championship tournament with a 6-5 win over St. Ann/Trinity St. John of Nasvhille Saturday. The team places at 1 p.m. at Coulterville City Park. (Click on image to view the photo gallery)
