107 students from the Pinckneyville Community High School performed down "Mainstreet U.S.A" at the Magic Kingdom on their Disneyworld trip on June 8th.  The band was the largest of the three performing bands that lead the afternoon parade.  The seven day long trip included all of the following  stops:  Magic Kingdom and Performance, EPCOT, Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney Studios, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disneys Animal Kingdom.

The students were accompanied by their two directors, Stephen Cannedy and Cathy Cunningham, Percussion Instructor Kyle Pursell and Colorguard Instructor Rhonda Hicks.  Six chaperones helped to made the trip possible:  Beth Lipe, Shari Kovic, Mike Kovic, Lori Schmidt, Tina Simpson and Amanda Hepp.  In addition the following parents volunteered to help with supervision:  Larry Wild, Deon Johnston, Kathy Travis, Clay Travis,  Rose Kellerman and Susan Maxey.

More than 150 friends and families were also at Disneyworld for the bands performance.  The students behavior was exceptional and the parent help was terrific.

The band has practices in June and band camp will be held the first full week of August.  This years competition show will be "Piano Man - Billy Joel".
