Phil M. asks: “Tiger Woods says he is taking an ‘indefinite break’ from the game. Will he ever come back?"
Ask Red says: Absolutely! When you’re juggling a wife and a dozen or so side dishes this is the opportune time of year to break it off. Just think of the money he’ll save not having to buy expensive Christmas gifts to keep the harem happy. Come the new year, Tiger will be swinging again. Oh, if you were referring to golf, I don’t know and don’t really care.
Night Shift says: “Is it in you?” is the now snicker inducing Gatorade catch phrase that has Tiger’s former employers backing away quicker than Perez Hilton from a lap dance, quicker than Chas Bono from Victoria’s Secret, quicker than George Bush from a spelling bee, quicker than … oh, you get the idea. Forget Jack Nicklaus’s records, Tiger has been going after Wilt Chamberlain’s, who claimed to have slept with 20,000 women. At least the reviews have been good. Those who have talked all agree that he was a terrific lover. Of course, he was. Any professional golfer can master the same 18 holes after repeated rounds. Back to your question, will he return? Sure he will but it won’t be the same and both him and the game of golf will suffer as a result. It’s a little like discovering the bracelet you bought during vacation on a tropical island was really just tin with a plating of gold - dazzling in the sunshine of the moment but found to be disappointingly flawed underneath.
