While it is ill-advised to look a gift horse in the mouth, The Post asks, "Was the paving of Grant and East streets wise use of taxpayer money?" Apparently these two roadways were the only ones in town to qualify for federal stimulus handouts. Rather than taking the high road and passing on the Obama bucks so they could be spent on truly needed infrastructure projects elsewhere , we went for the gold. Pinckneyville now proudly boasts two streets that are stiped for a couple of blocks each. What a waste of our dollars.
