{joomplu:181}"We are 'Quilt-a-holics," Flossine Schrader of Pinckneyville unabashedly proclaims. She is one of about a half dozen ladies who raise money for the Perry County Jail Museum by handstitching quilts. Most of their work is on-request intricate finishing for others. Be it "Down the ditch," threading a single stitch between blocks or, a "double seamer," bordering a seam on two sides, the quilters painstakingly go about their business. They also create a quilt from scratch every year that is raffled off. Those assembled this day included Flossine, Geraldine Moss of Pinckneyville, Kathi Quandt of Coulterville, Gertrude Smith of Denmark and LaVerna Scharwz of Pinckneyville.
